Puffed wheat cake

  • 8 cups puffed wheat cereal

  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/3 cup corn syrup

  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
    1. Place puffed wheat in a large bowl, and set aside. Grease one 9x9 inch pan.
    2. Grease the rim of a medium saucepan to prevent boil-over. Place the cocoa powder, corn syrup, brown sugar, and butter or margarine in the saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring often until mixture comes to a full boil. Allow to boil for 1 minute, and then remove from heat.
    3. Pour chocolate mixture over puffed wheat, and stir until puffed wheat is evenly coated. Using a buttered spatula, press mixture into the prepared pan. Allow to cool, then cut as desired. Wrap squares individually, or store in an airtight container.

Review: What went well? me and my group did everything well during this cooking session we were talking to each other and shared the work evenly and knew why to do and when to do that specific task while making this puffed wheat cake.

What did not go so well? we were not keeping track of where our food was and our equipment to make it and were bickering about the dishes and cooperation with each other and were constantly wondering what we needed and tryed to figure it out ourselves without consulting the sheet.

What I learned? to cooperate as a team and if we are unsure about any thing either look at the recipe sheet to find a the solution or go to the teacher for or ask a friend and the kitchen beside us to fix whatever is going on.

What will i do next time? I will try to work harder as a team with my group member and ask for help when I know that we will need it and to always look at the recipe sheet when I am not completely sure about the recipe or what goes into the food I am making to get the best mark possible.
